The Equipment to support timely pathogen surveillance &
Train the Next Generation of the workforce

Infrastructure

Biosciences Research Infrastructure Fund supported infrastructure will establish the Cross-Border Pathogen Facility at UWindsor and increase genomic surveillance capacity at INSPIRE partner UGuelph. Our purchases will include sequencing instruments, thermal cyclers, associated sample prep equipment and a mobile BSL2 lab.

Infrastructure Cores hosting INSPIRE Infrastructure

University of Windsor’s Environmental Genomics Facility (EGF) at GLIER

The Environmental Genomics Facility (EGF) is a multi-user, central analytical facility supported by a specialized technician. The EGF is part of the Canada Foundation for Innovation Research Facilities Navigator Network thereby showcasing our resources and available services to partners in industry, academia and government. See the list of equipment available to EGF users.

WE-SPARK’s NUCLEUS

Network of core labs enabling solutions (NUCLEUS) is a core organizing centre for multi-faceted research facilities in Windsor-Essex. It is a growing, forward-facing resource to provide information about available equipment and core facilities. We will ensure that equipment funded by, or available through, HI3 is listed on the NUCLEUS website. In addition to providing a resource that can act as the ‘go-to’ for increasing access to, and promoting the use of, available infrastructure across the INSPIRE network. NUCLEUS provides a wealth of information about each piece of equipment/core facility.

University of Guelph’s Genomics Facility in the Advanced Analysis Centre

The Genomics Facility is designated as an Ontario Genomics Platform Affiliate service facility and operates as a core facility offering molecular biology technology support services and training in DNA sequencing, genotyping, and gene expression analyses to the UGuelph community as well as to industry, academic, and government partners.
